Ricardo Pumarejo presented oral argument before the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit in Martinez v. Hidalgo County, No. 25-40464, representing Hidalgo County and two sheriff’s deputies.

The appeal concerned federal civil-rights and state-law claims arising from a law-enforcement encounter. The issues included Fourth Amendment protections, qualified immunity, and governmental liability.

Ricardo prepared the appellees’ brief and argued in support of the district court’s summary judgment in his clients’ favor.
